Picture Polish Autumn

Autumn was released in July 2015 by Australian boutique polish maker Picture Polish as a Collaboration shade. It was designed with Alena of The Polishing Life and @lfcbabe, who wanted to add something unique to PP's Collaboration line-up to represent her favorite season. I'd say that she succeeded brilliantly!

Officially described as a burnt orange jelly scattered holographic polish, the color is a bold, medium-toned Spanish orange with aspects of bittersweet and burnt orange, a resonant, full-bodied shade with great presence on the nail. It's filled with PP's signature scattered holographic flakes, which glisten as light travels over them and give the polish a dappled visual texture. In the sun, they light up in a scattered field of bright gold, orange and green sparks.

Application was fantastic. The consistency of Autumn is fluid, light and buttery smooth with a medium viscosity and a remarkably even, silky, self-leveling slip over the nail, a gorgeous formula that is on par with PP's best. Pigmentation is very good, delivering evenly opaque coverage in two coats. Cleanup is easy. Autumn dries naturally in very good time to a beautiful glossy finish.

Photos show two coats of Autumn over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Oh, this polish is so easy to love! The color has a particularly clean quality on the nail that is unusual for burnt orange, which typically has a bit more brown to it than this does and can come off as somewhat muddy. It's richer than most of the oranges we see in summertime, evocative of the cornucopia of autumnal fruits and flora. As perfect as any polish could ever be and definitely a must-have for orange lovers.

love,
Liz
