Top Shelf Lacquer Tipsy

I have another polish from Top Shelf Lacquer's Drunken Creme Fall Holos for you today!

Tipsy is officially described as a milk chocolate creme holographic polish and I agree. It's a medium-dark, beautifully-balanced umbery sort of shade that's slightly warmer than raw umber but not too warm, just warm enough to give it a creamy milk chocolate vibe. The holographic pigment gives it a delicately-grained appearance with a touch of golden effervescence, and creates a dimensional effect in ambient light where the color is a little lighter toward the center of the nail and deeper at the sidewalls, with a hint of holographically-generated smoky violet at its heart.

Application was wonderful. Tipsy's formula is in line quality-wise with the other polishes I've experienced from this collection, which is to say: it's excellent! It has a fluid, light, creamy consistency, a medium-to-thinner viscosity and a fluent, even, self-leveling slip over the nail that's a pleasure to work with. Pigmentation is very good to excellent -- as Jess of jessFACE90 on YouTube likes to say, possibly when it's been used a couple of times and thickens a bit with exposure to air, it will be a viable one-coater. I used two coats for this manicure. Cleanup is easy. Tipsy dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish.

Who can deny the appeal and stylishness of brown polish for fall? Not me! It's warm and welcoming, with an organic quality that jives well with the deeper, richer, earthier colors we tend to wear during the season. I think it's a great and super chic neutral, and I adore the way it looks with cooler colors like blues and purples, which I wear a lot. This one is especially nice, a graceful, full-bodied milk chocolate brown that is sleek and glossy on the nail with a serene, composed sensibility that makes it most companionable and easy to wear. Love!

xo,
Liz
