Indigo Bananas Galactic Halo Holo

Galactic Halo Holo was recently released by indie polish maker Indigo Bananas as part of a new line of chrome flakie polishes late last year. These polishes are characterized by thin multichrome flakies suspended in a clear base. This amazing polish has purple to copper to green color shifting flakies with additional wow power provided by the inclusion of finely-milled holographic pigment. The predominant color is mostly a silvery purple with a lavender blue flash, but this polish is teeming with all kinds of color: turquoise, blue, violet, magenta, copper, pink, green, gold and more! It's just an explosion of colors with a reflective semi-metallic finish. Words simply fail here, and even the photos only marginally reflect the presence of this polish in person.

Application was a snap! The consistency is fluid and smooth with an easy, self-leveling flow over the nail and little to no interference by the superabundant flakies. It glides on like a regular polish almost, with excellent coverage in only two coats. Cleaning up the flakies from skin and cuticle can get a little tedious (I rushed my cleanup and left some behind) but it's not overly problematic. The flakies lay smooth and flat against the nail and I had no protrusions over the free edge and was even able to wrap my tips. Galactic Halo Holo dries naturally in good time to a smooth, reflective finish.

Another pied beauty from Indigo Bananas! Outdoors, this polish really comes alive, even on an overcast day like today when the clouds are low and spitting rain. The blue/purple/copper/green shift with all its peripherals are like an oil slick, with the colors sweeping fluidly across surface of each nail. This is one of those polishes that will endanger your driving, beware!
