Described as a "violet blurple leaning holo," the base color is indeed a dark but vivid violet of the indigo-leaning persuasion, similar to color wheel violet but of course much darker. The jelly formula layered over itself takes on a dark grape appearance in brighter natural light and an indigo (or even navy) appearance in low light and shade. The holographic pigment is visible upon close inspection as dainty, prismatic motes, with a broad, sparkling arc of intense ultramarine blue in the sun.
Application was great! The consistency of Scathed Enough in Her Time is fluid, light and smooth with a medium-to-thin viscosity and a very fluent slip over the nail that surface dries rather quickly and does not respond well to overstroking. Pigmentation is very good, delivering full bottle color in two medium or three thinner coats. Cleanup is straightforward with a tiny bit of pigment travel. Scathed Enough in Her Time dries naturally in very good time to a beautiful glossy finish. Topcoat does not appear to alter the holographic properties of the polish in any way that I could tell.
Photos show two coats of Scathed Enough in Her Time over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

This is a beautiful, bold, glossy violet with a bit of jelly-ish squish to it after topcoat. Intensely saturated, it has a the presence and sensibility of a jewel-tone, which I love. It's a fabulous deep shade for any time of the year, and feels particularly suited to wear with bolder wardrobe colors -- as you would any jewel-tone.
love,
Liz
