You may well ask why's it called BSOD. BSOD stands for Blue Screen of Death. The Blue Screen of Death is a PC phenomenon and I have only ever owned macs so I've never experienced this dreaded event, but from what I understand it is an error screen that appears when a PC has suffered an internal operating error from which it cannot recover. Suffering a BSOD is traumatic and infuriating and apparently happens to most Windows platform computers soon or later. Your dad can fill you in on the details, ask him if he's ever seen the Blue Screen of Death and see what he says.
Why create a polish named BSOD? Because it's a cultural icon in the geek/nerd computing realm. It's famous and it's blue. Those right there are reasons enough. But there's also a little irony involved here. Irony is when there's a surprising, dramatic or otherwise poignant difference between what you expect and what actually happens. In this case, Blue Screen of Death being what it is you wouldn't expect something named after it to be appealing, but Pretty Serious' BSOD is hugely appealing and pretty to the max.
It's a glitter jelly polish with a bright saturated pacific blue base filled with teeny tiny sparkling royal blue microglitters. A seemingly simple combination, but the proportion of glitters to base is crucial to a good formula and in BSOD's case it is perfection. The consistency is fluid and smooth and easily controlled. There is no dragging or patching or stacking of glitters.
Application of BSOD was blissful. I applied three coats over basecoat, enjoying the way the color became richer and the microglitters more layered and mysterious with each one. BSOD dries naturally to a smooth glassy finish but I added a layer of Seche Vite for the extra gloss and dimensionality it gave to this gorgeous jewel-like polish.

Isn't it fabulous? I think so too. So pretty! Bright sapphire blue and bursting with sparkle, what could be better?
This is one energetic polish. It makes your eyes want to stare at your finger nails, but it makes your fingers want to go do something, something busy, requiring lots of quick bird-like movement and fluttering and pointing at stuff. Makes you want to go lay your hands on somebody. Somebody small and suntanned and giggly with delicious lickable feet!
Ha! Gonna get those feet, girl!
