Superchic Lacquer Witches Agenda for Uberness

Witches Agenda for Uberness was recently released by California-based indie polish maker Superchic Lacquer as part of the Into the Woods collection for fall 2014. This polish has a black jelly base packed with relatively large irregularly-shaped metallic electric blue shimmers and a modicum of holographic pigment. The bright blue shimmers are the star of this show, and glow so brightly that they give the polish a dark blue appearance and a cerulean flash. Scattered holographic pigments throw sparks of light in a rainbow of colors and form a scattered prismatic flair in direct light.

Application was awesome! This brand is new to me but I've always been impressed by the funky shape of the bottles (they have a square base with elongated hexagonal shoulders and a triangular facet from top to bottom on the front and the back, very cool), which are luxuriously weighty in the hand. The relatively short wand sports a flattened brush with flexible bristles that fan out beautifully across the nail. The consistency of Witches Agenda for Uberness is fluid, smooth and slightly gel-like, with an excellent paintable viscosity and even, self-leveling flow over the nail. Pigmentation of this polish is buildable. Having a jelly base, it is sheer on the first coat and reaches fully opaque bottle color in three thin coats. Cleanup is easy and straightforward, with the blue shimmers clinging a little tenaciously to skin and cuticles but removable with a few extra swipes of the cleanup brush. Witches Agenda for Uberness dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, slightly flat finish that looks amazing with a glossy topcoat.

Those ethereal blue shimmers give this polish a magical feel on the nail. For those hesitant to wear black on their nails for fear of an angsty, juvenile look, here is a black polish that is solidly on the grown up end of the spectrum, with substantial sparkle and a cool, edgy, mysterious air that is glamorous and sexy.
