Application was great. The consistency is fluid and thick, so I added a bit of thinner to mine. Brute lays down smoothly and evenly and self-levels well. Pigmentation is excellent -- chalk up another one coater from Mentality! I did two to tame my nail ridges. Brute surface dries very quickly and forms its matte finish as it does so, but the polish beneath is still wet and will take a few more minutes longer to dry. Take care with it in the meantime, as it's vulnerable to dents, smudges and nicks until it has dried completely. I was a bit carefree with my application and had a few brushstrokes visible as a result, but in the context of the fabulous color they really don't call that much attention to themselves.
Photos show two coats of Brute over treatment and basecoat without topcoat.

Money! Compared to the other royal blues I swatched earlier this month, this one is lighter and brighter. There's a cerulean glow along the axis of light that gives it a wonderful dimensionality. It's tied with Essie Mesmerize as my favorite.
love,
Liz
