KBShimmer Let's Not Coral

Let's Not Coral was released by indie polish maker KBShimmer as part of the Early Summer 2014 collection in May. This is a medium-light nicely saturated watermelon pink creme with peachy coral tones that come to the forefront under incandescent lighting especially. In natural light it is a vibrant cheerful floral fruity coral pink with a decidedly summer vibe and a feminine poolside countenance.

Application was nice. The consistency of Let's Not Coral is very fluid and creamy with excellent slip over the nail and great self-leveling properties. Pigmentation is very good. I got complete, even opacity with two medium coats. This is the sort of color where thin spots in the coverage show as dark patches or streaks (if you have ridges), and I thought I still had one or two after two coats but they disappeared as the polish leveled out and set up. Cleanup is easy and straightforward with no traces of staining left behind. Let's Not Coral dries naturally in very good time to a beautiful glossy finish.

Photos show two coats of Let's Not Coral over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Glisten and Glow HK Girl. Please pardon the occasional topcoat bubble. I'm working on it, I swear!

Let's Not Coral has a dreamy rich mezzo voice that will sing to you all day long. The song I hear is one of my favorite messages of the polish genre, "be present in the moment." This is one of the many things I love about wearing nail polish, that it gives you the opportunity to get out of your head and square yourself with time and space. All you have to do is look at it!

love,
Liz

  1. I don't have any true corals in my collection but I love the cremes that I have in my collection that have coral tones in them. They're my favorites as of lately. I find them to be really flattering. This one is very pretty!

    1. Me too! I've been loving pinks with coral tones and reds with pink tones lately, they feel so feminine and pretty. This one is very much a pink with coral tones most of the time, but the orange in it comes out in dim and incandescent lighting. It's an interesting pink, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
