Creator Missi describes Nefelibata as a "sky blue linear holo with added contrasting shimmers." The color is a very pale variation of sky blue, heavily silvered by holographic pigment to where it appears similar to a marian blue on the nail. Superabundant particulate shimmers with a pink/gold color shift add an aspect of creamy warmth in ambient light, and I believe there are pale azure microflake shimmers in the mix as well. All of these shimmers give the polish extra sparkle in bright light and direct sun, where there's a delicately-hued linear holographic display predominated by an arc of azure with a compressed corona of pasteled prismatic sparks floating over a glistening semi-metallic underlay of silvery pink that shifts to pale gold at certain angles.
Application was most agreeable! The consistency of Nefelibata is fluid, smooth and slightly fluffy with a medium viscosity and a near-effortless, creamy, self-leveling glide over the nail. It goes right where you put it and stays there, and is easy to finesse with DD's somewhat bushy flattened style brush. Pigmentation is very good, especially for a pale shade. Some sheerness to the first coat builds quickly to wearably opaque coverage after the second. Cleanup is easy but looses a swarm of pink, gold and blue shimmers to roam freely about the nail environs. Nefelibata dries naturally in very good time to more of a satiny finish than the other Wanderlust polishes that I've experienced. Topcoat does not affect the holographic properties of the polish in any way that I could tell.
Photos show two coats of Nefelibata over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Like many light blue shimmery polishes do, this one reminds me of my nail polish friend Marisa from Montana. Marisa, this looks like you! In person, it's slightly more silvery and ethereal than it appears in my pics, very delicate with an certain effervescent twinkle that serves the concept of "cloud walker" well. A pretty name for a pretty polish!
love,
Liz
This is a very pretty polish. Hahah, I've had polishes that do cleanup like it. Besides a brush, I end up employing an orange stick, metal cuticle pusher and even tape to get those elusive shimmers rounded up! They are really not ready to leave the party!
ReplyDeleteYour tenacity is most impressive, Lara! I go at them with the cleanup brush, which often times ends up just redistributing the buggers. I usually give up and resolve to live with them long before they are gone. That's fine for normal wear, not so much for photos. Either it's alright or it's too bad!
