Emily de Molly Divine Conversations

Divine Conversations was released last month by Australian indie polish maker Emily de Molly as a stand-alone polish, one of eight new releases for March 2017. Creator Hayley describes it as a dark purple jelly with green-to-blue iridescent flakes, red-to-green iridescent glitters, silver microglitters and silver holographic microshreds. There's a lot going on in this fabulous creation!

The base color is a deep, velvety grape hue with aspects of indigo, translucent but saturated enough that it's not the least bit muddy. It is absolutely packed with the flakies and glitters listed above, all of which fire up as light travels over them, giving the polish a colorful Old Hollywood-style twinkle in ambient light. In the sun, they just explode into a field of brilliant multicolored sparkle. Every color in the rainbow is represented, but my favorites are all of the blues and purples that appear to issue from deep within the polish -- so glamorous!

Application was a pleasure. The consistency of Divine Conversations is fluid and light with an eminently paintable thin-to-medium viscosity and a fluent, self-leveling glide over the nail that's remarkably easy to work with for being so component-laden and is amenable to thin or thicker coats as preference dictates. I prefer generous coats with this one as the base is somewhat sheer, especially on the first coat. Wearable opacity can be had in two or three coats -- make sure to wrap those tips with each one to avoid any sheerness there. I did my cleanup as I went along to deter sticking glitters. Divine Conversations dries naturally to a gently textured, shiny finish. For a glossy, glitter-under-glass look, I used a layer of gel-effect topcoat plus a layer of quick-dry.

Photos show three coats of Divine Conversations over ÜNT peel-off basecoat with a layer of Pretty Serious Plump Up the Volume gel-effect topcoat followed by Seche Vite.

Gorgeous! This is a party polish, perfect for New Year's Eve or Mardi Gras but also a blast to wear any time -- with all of that multicolored sparkle it's a real mood-lifter! Love!

    1. Isn't it fabuous? In the sea of multichromes we've been seeing, it certainly stands out. I love how visible all of the glitter and flakie colors are.
