Darling Diva Charity Polish: Red Friday

Red Friday was released by indie polish maker Darling Diva Polish as a charity polish in October this year. One hundred percent of the proceeds from sales of this polish go to the DAV -- a generous gesture of support from Carrie, the owner and creative force behind Darling Diva, for a most worthy cause. 

The DAV is dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. They accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life. The DAV is committed to fulfilling our country's promises to the men and women who have served. Red Friday the polish is, as you would expect, bright red. It's a medium juicy cherry red linear holographic polish packed with ultra fine holo pigments that produce a beautiful prismatic flair in almost any light. Bold, vibrant and utterly gorgeous, it develops a red metallic sheen in direct light over which floats the holo display in a brilliant cloud of rainbow-colored sparks. I got a lot of compliments on this polish!

Application was a snap. This polish has a lovely fluid, smooth consistency with a silky flow over the nail and very good self-leveling properties. It's a user-friendly polish that is amenable to very thin or thicker coats and is easy to finesse with Darling Diva's flattened flexible brush. Pigmentation is also very good. This polish sacrifices none of its intense color to the holo pigment and builds to even, opaque coverage in two thin coats. Cleanup is easy and straightforward with no trace of staining. Red Friday dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish. Topcoat does not diminish the holo effects in any way.
