Eat Sleep Polish Alice! Alice! Alice!

Alice! Alice! Alice! (just "Alice" for short) was released by Canadian indie polish maker Eat Sleep Polish as part of the Alice in Polishland 2 collection in March 2015. This polish has a creamy sky blue base bearing beaucoup iridescent pink shimmers. On the nail, the color evolves into a more substantial -- brighter and ever-so-slightly darker -- shade than what you see in the bottle and to my eye leans a little more to azure than cyan. The shimmers are somewhat shy at first glance, offering only a luminous dusty aspect to hint at their potential. But get this polish in the sun and their iridescence creates a near-scattered holographic effect with bright twinkling sparks across the nail and a shimmering lick of delicate pink along the axis of light. And at certain angles in indirect light, they give the polish a pale pink glow.

Application was most agreeable. The consistency of Alice is fluid and deliciously creamy with a medium viscosity and a buttery glide over the nail. It went on best for me in medium coats from a moderately loaded brush using a light touch. Self-leveling properties are very good and pigmentation is excellent. It's almost a one-coater and two light coats delivers completely even opaque coverage. I ended up adding a third simply to ensure the non-appearance of my nail ridges (not entirely successfully), but it's certainly not necessary for opacity's sake. Cleanup is easy and straightforward with barely a hint of pigment travel and no residual staining at all. Just make sure you get those extraneous shimmers, which like to hang around on skin and nail after the blue is removed. Alice dries naturally in very good time to a smooth shiny finish. Topcoat enhances the luminosity and sparkle of the shimmers.

Photos show three coats of Alice over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Once again pink shimmers elude my camera!

If you'd like to see photos that do an excellent job of showing those pink shimmers, take a look at Keri's awesome pics in her review of this polish on Oh My Swatch

    1. Thanks, Lara! My favorite thing about this polish is actually the formula. Even though it doesn't completely camo my nail ridges, it's got a nicely opaque, super creamy formula that's immensely satisfying to apply. Makes me want to try more from this brand.
