Too Fancy Lacquer Passionfruit Daiquiri

Passionfruit Daiquiri was released by Hong Kong based indie polish maker Too Fancy Lacquer as a Llarowe exclusive to commemorate the brand's debut stocking in early February. This is a medium coral scattered holographic polish with pink iridescent flakes and golden particulate shimmers. It's gorgeous! The radiant, rosy pink-leaning coral reddens up in shade and dim light to a flame color. In direct sun, the combination of holo and shimmer components is fabulous, with a central flame of bright gerbera pink that shades to a brink pink with hints of persimmon around the edges, emblazoned along the axis of light with flashes of lavender and pinkish gold from the iridescent flakes and spangled throughout with tiny sparks of gold from the gold particulate shimmers. Such a nicely-balanced composition, everything works together seamlessly to produce a vibrant tropical blossom of a polish that just glows. On the nail it has an irrepressible, zesty femininity that is incredibly flattering. Awesome!

Application was awesome too! The consistency of Passionfruit Daiquiri is fluid and fluffy with iridescent flake shimmers. Despite some tumbling of these flakes, it has a very creamy flow over the nail and a perfect, stay-where-you-put-it density for easy manipulation with Too Fancy's flattened flexible brush. Pigmentation is very good with even opaque coverage in two coats, which is what I used for this manicure. The initial fluffiness of the formula thins to a compact layer as it dries. Cleanup is easy with some stickiness on the part of the flake shimmers, easily brushed away with a few passes of the cleanup brush. Passionfruit Daiquiri dries naturally in average time to a smooth satiny finish with a little bit of visual texture from the flake shimmers. Topcoat does not diminish the holographic effects in any way and pops the light play of the components.

Photos show two coats of Passionfruit Daiquiri over treatment and base coat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Doesn't this polish make you want a lipstick to match? Passionfruit Daiquiri seems to have the charming quality of provoking adoration from complete strangers -- I got two enthusiastic compliments on it while I was out and about today. Awesome!

  1. Gurrrl, you should wear coral more often! This looks fantastic on you!!! Very flattering indeed; and so energetic, and yes, I absolutely want whatever lip color matches!! I've been all about the peaches and corals on lips and cheeks :D I love that the color ebbs from cool iridescent pink in the center to a glowing warm orange tint at the edges, just like a slushy sweet smoothie drink. You've outdone yourself on the swatches; these are enchanting!! <3

    1. Thank you, my dear! I so love this polish, wearing it makes me feel like I've lost 20lbs and at least as many years. Vibrant corals do well with my pinkage but the softer, paler ones generally don't. As it happens, I have one of the latter coming up soon, Coral Fedora from Polish My Life -- we'll have to see if I can pull it off!
