Cirque Vaudeville

Today I have Vaudeville from Cirque to show you, the final polish from my massive pre-holiday Cirque spree. Vaudeville is a beautiful smooth creme with soft shimmer, a graceful muted lavender with gentle grey undertones carrying iridescent shimmers in gold and pale blue. It's a delicious confection of a polish, delicate in color but not overly dainty, and has that Cirquean appeal where the closer you get the more you want to see.

Application was lovely. The consistency is liquid and light but easily controlled and applies in a smooth self-leveling manner. Vaudeville is somewhat sheer on the first coat but applies so evenly that it looks great even at just one coat. Additional coats enrich the lavender color and I applied three, just because I could mostly but I did find that the third coat gave the color just that much more additional body. This is a very forgiving polish. In my ooh aah state of mind I missed a couple of patches at the corners of my free edge (as I am known to do). A few careful dabs of Vaudeville covered the patches and melted into the rest of the polish so you'd never know they were done. Vaudeville dries in very good time to a smooth and shiny finish and topcoat makes the most of the subtle shimmers.

Photos show three coats of Vaudeville over Seche Rebuild treatment and Butter London Nail Foundation basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Vaudeville's lavender is a color cousin of Pantone's Color of the Year 2014 Radiant Orchid. I tend to think of orchid as a pink purple and lavender as more of a blue purple, but the softness and basic color mix are similar in these two. Vaudeville is an embracing, harmonious polish. It has a soft step and a delightful quiet presence. The delicate shimmers remind me of spring when the plum trees out in the pen bloom and then shed their tiny rounded petals in fluttering clouds to cover the pen paths and the leafy violets blooming below.

When you've got a polish that'll take you there in spirit, that's a sweet polish!
