Nire's Desire We Are Alive

We Are Alive was released by indie polish maker Nire's Desire as part of the Techno Collection Phase One. It is a gorgeous bright medium fuchsia with sparkling blue and pink microflakes and a brilliant holographic flair in direct light. In shade and indirect light, this polish displays rich depth of color. There is a shimmering quality to it like fine silk, and it throws an ethereal silvery pink sheen along the axis of light.

Application was just lovely. We Are Alive has a fluid, light consistency with a perfect painting viscosity and smooth even flow over the nail. Pigmentation is very good with any slight sheerness after one coat disappearing with the second. It self-levels beautifully, too, disguising any nail bed flaws with ease. Cleanup is easy and straightforward. We Are Alive dries naturally in very good time to a smooth shiny finish and topcoat did not affect the holographic properties of this polish at all. Actually it seemed to enhance them, and popped the color of the blue microflakes beautifully.

Photos show two coats of We Are Alive over Seche Rebuild treatment and Butter London Nail Foundation basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Tell you what, this is one photogenic little polish. I love it and cannot get over how exquisitely pretty it is! The color is so rich and dimensional with sparkling flecks of pink, purple, red, violet and blue all clearly visible, giving We Are Alive a colorful finely grained appearance that just sends me. It may be a bright, fun, summery sort of shade but this polish definitely has mojo enough for year round wear. 

In direct sun, the holo's prismatic display is stunning. I took some pics to show you....

Beautiful, well-defined flame-shaped rainbows of color! This kind of display is characteristic of a linear holo but I hesitate to consider We Are Alive strictly as a linear holo because it is so much more than a vehicle for the holo display, which is how I view most linear holographic polishes. Maybe I need to reshape my aesthetic to include a spot for complex, intensely pigmented, multi-component polishes such as this that include the microfine holographic particles that produce a linear flair without any accompanying metallic or silvered-out aspects to their appearance. 

Or maybe I'll just enjoy the view.
