Application was great! The consistency of Nature Walk is very like that of Sage & Saffron: on the fluid side but not the least bit runny, with a smooth, creamy glide over the nail and very good self-leveling properties. Similarly to Sage & Saffron, this polish sets up quickly and appreciates a like application technique. Pigmentation is very good with completely even opaque coverage in two coats. A thinner first coat followed by a more generous second gave an easy, enjoyable application experience, and if you find your brush becoming a little gummy just close the bottle, give it a shake and you'll be good to go. Cleanup is easy and straightforward with just a tiny bit of recalcitrance on the part of the metallic flakes but no pigment travel to speak of. Nature Walk dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, flat finish that loves a glossy topcoat to look its best.
Photos show two coats of Nature Walk over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Olive is such a quintessential fall green, and I love it paired with metallics of all kinds. Creator Rachel has ingeniously constructed Nature Walk to take advantage of both aspects, with its shimmery mossy base combined with small bursts of color from the metallic flakes, reminiscent of autumnal leaves. The look is supremely chic for the season, I think.
I believe that Rachel is restocking her website at the moment and getting ready to release a sweet-looking trio of polishes for Halloween. I can't wait!
love,
Liz
This is a really nice green. It reminds me of sweaters and sweater weather and other things that don't happen here very often, haha. I get the feeling that greens like this are one of your personal neutrals...am I wrong? or just sleepy? :P
ReplyDeleteYes, sweaters! And boots! Chunky olive sweaters and boots!
DeleteI gave all of my sweaters but one to the PTA Thrift Shop in Carrboro, along with all of my turtlenecks. There's really no need for me to wear sweaters here, even when it really is cold, as I am a walking furnace. For the past couple of years, though, I've had the urge to get myself a cashmere sweater. I love the feel of them on other people. Last year I gave everyone in my family cashmere sweaters for Christmas. I source them on ebay and enjoy hunting them down.
I do love olive green polishes. They're unexpected and always so much prettier than you'd imagine they would be. Now that you mention it, I do have a lot of similar greens in my closet. Maybe it is a de facto personal neutral!
That is one very handsome polish! I don't know if I've been influenced by others or what, but I have been having more than a moment with these mossy/olive green polishes lately. Excellent review.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lara!
DeleteYour aesthetic is stretching its wings! So exciting! The next step may be to select one and try it for yourself to see how you cotton to the color on your own nails. Nature Walk has a certain complexity with its included flake shimmers that might not make it the best choice for this kind of experiment. There are plenty of olive greens out there, but off the top of my head, I would recommend Epidote 2 by Elevation Polish, an olivine creme holo. Slightly brighter than a true olive but full of delicious holographic nuancing to the color as well as a gorgeous linear prismatic display. Just a thought!
