Dreamland Date Night

Date Night was originally released in February 2015 as part of the Valentine's 2015 collection under creator Noelie's Smitten label, and has been re-released as a Dreamland polish. Described as a hot pink linear holo, to my eye the color lands somewhere between hot pink and rose pink, a lush, vivid, brilliant, mostly cool-toned shade with hints of neon rose and a kiss of warm cerise -- kind of like a deep pink/light deep pink hybrid. It is ubiquitously holographic and dimensional, displaying a glowing, transparent violet heart in almost all circumstances, with nuanced hues of misty ultra pink and brink pink and a shimmering, semi-metallic hot pink underlay in ambient light. In the sun there's a gorgeous linear holographic flare with arcs of bright azure and mixed red and orange sparks that shades to deep pink at the sidewalls of the nail.

Application was wonderful. The consistency of Date Night is fluid, light and silky smooth with a thin-to-medium viscosity and a fluent, even, self-leveling glide over the nail, an eminently-paintable formula that is a joy to finesse with Dreamland's flattened, flexible brush. Awesome! Pigmentation is very good, netting evenly opaque coverage in two coats. Cleanup is straightforward with a skosh of pigment travel as you might expect from such a saturated color. Date Night dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish. Topcoat does not interfere in any way with the polish's holographic properties.

Photos show two coats of Date Night over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Bright, eye-catching and exuberantly feminine, this gorgeous pink is giving me happy spring fingers! The holographically-generated colors are rich and vibrant, traveling up and down the nail in shimmering swaths as your fingers flex in the light, and the violet heart just glows. It is all the eye-candy you could want in a bright pink linear holo. If you love your bright pinks, I suspect that you just might need this!

love,
Liz
