The Don Deeva Big Lights Will Inspire You

Big Lights Will Inspire You was created by Danette of Florida-based indie polish maker The Don Deeva for Polish Con April 2017 and released as part of The Road to Polish Con series last month. It has a clear base that is packed with SpectraFlair, a top-quality holographic pigment, as well as scattered holographic flakes. The result on the nail is a dimensional prismatic blizzard of silvery holographic pigment particles interspersed randomly with twinkling sparks in rainbow colors from the holographic flakies. There's a linear holographic flare of some sort in almost any circumstance, with the brightest, most sparkly and most delineated display in direct sun.

Application was a breeze! The consistency of Big Lights Will Inspire You is fluid and smooth with a medium viscosity and a fluent, even, self-leveling glide over the nail. Pigmentation is very good, delivering completely even, opaque coverage in two coats. Cleanup is easy. Big Lights Will Inspire You dries naturally in very good time to a shiny, textured (from the flakies) finish that is easily smoothed by a layer of gel-effect topcoat or two coats of regular quick dry.

Photos show two coats of Big Lights Will Inspire You over KBShimmer Love You Strong Time treatment and KBShimmer Fillin' Groovy basecoat topped with a layer of Pretty Serious Plump Up the Volume gel-effect topcoat followed by a layer of Seche Vite.

Big Lights Will Inspire You was paired with Contrary Polish's These Streets Will Make You Feel Brand New in its Road to Polish Con release. The names of both polishes come from the lyrics of Alicia Key's 2009 song "Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down."

If you're a silver holo enthusiast or collector, this is a beauty. The pigment particles are very fine and crisp and produce excellent prismatic effects, to which I think the starry twinkling of the holographic flakies only adds.

love,
Liz
