Application was excellent. The consistency of Starfish Wishes is fluid, full-bodied and dense with microglitters, with a medium viscosity to which I added a tiny bit of polish thinner. Thinned, it had a surprisingly light, fluent glide over the nail that went on very evenly and was easy to work with. Pigmentation is very good. Two coats delivers completely even, opaque coverage. I added a third to ensure the non-appearance of my nail ridges for the photos, but it didn't change the look of the polish at all. Cleanup is best done as you go along while the polish is still wet because those microglitters stick like limpets. Starfish Wishes dries naturally in very good time to a flat, textured finish. For a glassy-smooth, glossy look I used my favorite glitter-smoothing combo of gel-effect plus quick-dry topcoats.
Photos show three coats of Starfish Wishes over ÜNT peel-off basecoat finished with a layer of Pretty Serious Plump Up the Volume gel-effect topcoat followed by a layer of Seche Vite.

This rosy neon pink is fabulous! It doesn't have quite as much of that glow-in-the dark fluorescence as some neon pinks do, but it's got this precocious guava-esque juiciness to it that just sends me! The twinkling microglitters are the icing on the cake. Euphoric!

Another gorgeous polish....with an amazing script to support it! Your honesty with things like, adding polish thinner, clean-up is best done as you go along....and you stated that you chose to use PoB this time.....THIS!! is why I enjoy your posts! Honesty! And the fact that you always tell us WHY... Bravo, Lady!!
ReplyDeleteI do my best! A long time ago I realized that truth and joy were the most important goals I could aspire to, and I try to infuse everything I do with that in mind. Including blogging!
DeleteFor a number of years in a previous life I was a restorative auto detailer and spent a great deal of my online time reading posts in auto detailing forums. It was always the little idosyncratic things that I learned the most from and loved best about what people wrote, tips and tricks and personal stuff.
I know that when I'm enthusiastic about something, absorbing details like this is immensely satisfying. It feeds the enthusiasm. When I include this kind of thing in writing about polish, it keeps me eager!
