Sky Blue for Lilly and Grass Green for Eleanor

I know you won't mind sharing a post with your cousin Lilly, Eleanor, so I planned out one manicure just for her and one just for you and will show you both of them RIGHT NOW!

Lilly, lover of blue, this is for you! This will be a layered manicure. For the base I picked Rocky by Zoya. Rocky is lovely light-medium creamy sky blue creme polish. When your Aunt Kate sees this color and says "Carolina blue," ask her to sing the Tarheel fight song!

Rocky applied smoothly and evenly and dried to a glossy shine. Eleanor will tell you how shaky my hands are so when I can apply a polish and not get it everywhere that is a coup. I applied two coats and was happy with the opacity.  Photos show two coats of Rocky over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

I decided to use Tiffany by indie polish maker Shimmer Polish to layer over Rocky. Shimmer is a pure glitter polish. It has small to micro-sized pale pink and light blue glitter hexes and squares in a clear base. I think there must be some holo or iridescent glitters in there also because every now and then a glitter will spark green or purple or turquoise. The small sized and delicately colored glitters give Tiffany a dainty charm on the nail. It layers well over both pastels and brights alike and looks GORGEOUS over Rocky's sky blue.

For this look I carefully brushed on a scant coat of Tiffany. I opted for a soft glow by topping Tiffany with a coat of Essie Matte About You, a mattifying polish that dries clear and leaves a soft silky matte finish. This is a beautiful, glowing, serene combo and I just adore it!

Now Eleanor, my sweet green pixie, I have a look just for you! This is another layered mani and I chose one of my newest greens, Josie from Zoya, for the base color. Josie is a well-balanced medium-toned soft but bright grassy green creme. It has a slight milkiness to it that keeps the green creamy and smooth. Sweet! I don't have any other green like this, it's stunning!

I chose two different iridescent flakie toppers to layer over Josie. The first one is Essie Shine of the Times. Shine of the Times has clear base with iridescent flakies that glow orange, lemon yellow or light yellow green depending on the angle of light. After I applied Shine of the Times, I added a coat of Maisie by Zoya. Maisie has an aqua tinted base with flakies that glow turquoise or bright green depending on the angle of light. The combination of these two over Josie brought out orange and bright green flakie colors that shimmer and shine in the dimmest light. My nails look like opal gemstones, TDF!
