Like It's Not Rocket Science, Space Cadet is a glass fleck foil polish. It's also a dynamic purple/green based multichrome. It has a sheer base tinted a murky dark greenish blue with color shifting pigments and contains purple glass flecks that refract burgundy, purple, mauve, pink, bronze, olive, spring green and gold through the base depending upon the type and angle of light. What's really cool, and what you see most of the time, is the combination of some or all of these colors at once.
The formula for Space Cadet is fluid but dense, with a slightly oily consistency that is easy to control and smooth to apply. Because of its sheerness, multiple coats are necessary for opacity. Dry time is longer than average and this polish is very vulnerable to smudging. Space Cadet dries naturally to a smooth shiny finish.
Photos show three coats of Space Cadet over treatment and base coat with no topcoat.

Despite the intensity and athleticism of its chromatic display, Space Cadet is very light on the nail -- three coats doesn't feel or look like a lot of polish. Even though the purple/green shift isn't my favorite of the multichrome polish effects that can be had, I've got to give props to Orly for creating such a fine specimen.
love,
Aunt Liz
