The feeling continues with application -- just right! The consistency is fluid and smooth with a beautiful balance of fluidity and viscosity for painting. It sets right down on the nail where you put it without any pooling or stickiness or other maladaptive behaviors, and has an easy, self-leveling flow over the nail. As with any jelly, pigmentation is buildable but I found Chillin' With My Sister to be particularly nicely pigmented for a jelly with even, opaque coverage achievable in two medium coats. In retrospect I wish I'd added a third to banish all vestiges of visible nail line for the camera (unnoticeable in person) and to make the most of that plump, bouncy jelly finish. This polish applied so beautifully that I needed only a tiny bit of cleanup, but what I did was easy and straightforward. Chillin' With My Sister dries naturally in very good time to a matte finish due to neon pigments in its formulation. A glossy topcoat makes the most of this polish, especially the blue microshimmers and holographic glitters.
Photos show two coats of Chillin' With My Sister over Seche Rebuild treatment and Pretty Serious All Your Base basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

I have a lot of affection for this pretty, vibrant pink with its delicate blue glow and twinkly little glitters. I just love the name! When the Frozen and Flurrious collection was released in early December 2014, I immediately gravitated toward Chillin' With My Sister simply because of the name. In fact, I hardly saw the other polishes in the collection (and there are some fantastic ones)! There's nothing in the world I'd rather do than chill with my sis, and I've been so lonely for her lately.... She'll be here with her family for Easter and I'm really looking forward to it although I doubt we'll have any free time for chillin' -- their visits tend to be brief and action packed!
love,
Liz
Instantly regretting passing over this one when I hauled most of the Frozen and Flurrious collection :/ Gorgeous!! And a fabulous review, as always- though I am not seeing any trace of VNL :) Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBrothers aren't nearly the same as sisters but mine was in town briefly today and it was so great, which always vaguely surprises me. It wasn't so long ago that I was living under the same roof as him and despised his very being, but so long as we don't have to share living space I actually love hanging out with him. Chillin' on visits doesn't happen around here very much either, however... there is always so much to do!!
Compliments on a pink? That's certainly high praise from you, my dear! Don't fret -- I'll add this one to the little box of Marisa polishes that I need to go ahead and send to you soon so you can enjoy My Viking Boyfriend, which definitely looks like you!
DeleteYou know, it's interesting you mention it, because I've often contemplated the hypocrisy of the fact that while I LOVE anything pink in nuggle life, when it comes to nail polish it does indeed take a uniquely beautiful pink to really capture my interest! I mean, in truth I adore them all, but what with all the many pinks out there I feel the need to filter out the innumerable dupes. Liz, you are the dearest of them all- I would love that!!! I was so tickled to see the very same bottle of Fair Maiden on your blog today as on mine. It's like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Polish! Likewise, I have been doing some spring cleaning, and you should really prepare yourself for a small sparkling windfall ;)
