Application was great! The consistency of A Christmas Story is fluid, dense and surprisingly smooth given all the microglitters it contains. It has an easy, self-leveling glide over the nail with very good glitter payoff and even dissemination. Coverage is provided exclusively by the microglitters, which build to opacity in three coats. Be sure to tip wrap quite deliberately with this one to avoid any sheerness there! Cleanup is fairly straightforward and the microglitters are not unusually sticky. A Christmas Story dries naturally in very good time to a sandy-textured finish. A dedicated glitter smoothing topcoat like Gelous, Nail Pattern Baldness Glitter Food, or Pretty Serious Plump Up the Volume is most helpful in obtaining a glossy finish, as this polish is a ferocious topcoat eater. I used one coat of Plump Up the Volume, allowed that to set up and surface dry, and then followed with a generous layer of Seche Vite.
Photos show three coats of A Christmas Story over Pretty Serious Rock On treatment and Pretty Serious All Your Base basecoat with a coat of Pretty Serious Plump Up the Volume and a final topcoat of Seche Vite.

I'm pretty much in love with this sweet Christmas sparkler. It's actually a rather stealthy, unobtrusive shade until you hold still under a light source and all of those teeny tiny microglitters spring to life, carpeting your nails with a bright dimensional twinkle that's as merry and festive as can be.
Even though it's all glitters, I don't expect to have much trouble with removal as they are so tiny. If I find that I do need to roll out the tin foil, I'll leave a postscript to that effect.
ttyl,
Liz
