How doth the little crocodileMy bottle of How Doth the Little Crocodile has been sitting for a while and the polish inside reads as sort of slightly subdued hot pink. It actually reminds me a little of OPI Suzi Has A Swede Tooth from the 2014 Nordic collection, cool and bright but with a certain gentleness to it, perhaps an effect of the silvery sprinkling of holographic pigment it bears, visible as softly shimmering flecks. In low light, the pink cools further and edges toward orchid, but never really gets there. Still, very pretty on the nail.
Improve his shining tail
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws
And welcomes little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!
Application was wonderful. The consistency of How Doth the Little Crocodile is fluid, light and smooth with a silky glide over the nail and excellent self-leveling properties. It likes to go on in thin to medium coats and sets up fairly quickly, so overstroking is not appreciated, but is very easy to work with otherwise. Pigmentation is very good with even, opaque coverage in two coats. Cleanup is easy and straightforward. How Doth the Little Crocodile dries naturally in good time to a semi-matte finish. Topcoat adds a becoming gloss and allows the color to pop.
Photos show two coats of How Doth the Little Crocodile over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

Those little glimmers showing through the pink! Very sweet.
ReplyDeleteI think this is what a lot of people call a "strawberry pink." Very photogenic!
