A-England Encore Margot
Like Her Rose Adagio and Dancing with Nureyev, Encore Margot was released in late fall 2013 by British boutique polish maker A-England as part of the Ballerina collection, a series of holographic polishes in tribute to the career of British ballerina Margot Fonteyn de Arias.
Creator Adina describes Encore Margot as "a standout icy blue prismatic hue, destined for curtain calls." At first glance, the color is a pale silvery grey with a finely-grained, matte-metallic appearance with a bloom like sandwashed silk, courtesy of superabundant holographic pigment. The lightest kiss of azure mist, a delicate cyanic tint, elicits a transparent blue
sheen and a warm flush of pale aqua at certain angles in ambient light, and
engenders a splendid, diaphanous, blue-dominated scattered prismatic display in the sun.
Application was a delight. The consistency of Encore Margot is fluid, light and creamy with a thin-to-medium viscosity and a silky smooth, self-leveling slip over the nail. User friendly and eminently paintable, it is a pleasure to work with. Pigmentation is excellent, nearly a one-coater, but you'll want two to make the most of the polish's holographic qualities. Cleanup is easy. Encore Margot dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, glossy finish. Topcoat does not inhibit the holographic effects in any way -- in fact, I think that it intensifies them, especially in ambient light.
Photos show two coats of Encore Margot over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

There is
nothing harsh or futuristic about this polish's silvery look, it is the
feather-light, organic silvery-grey of bleached driftwood or fine,
floating ash from a fire, with a prismatic twist -- a graceful, elegant
shade. You don't often see scattered silver holos -- leave it to Adina to create a perfect example. I love the delicate effects!

Nice to have available a silver that is not so in your face. And the wonderful formula just makes it all that much better!
ReplyDeleteI think so too. As much as I like silver, bold metallic silver on my nails is a bit much for me -- I feel like a character from The Fifth Dimension. *lol* Encore Margot, like the other Ballerinas, is soft, luminous and dimensional. Perfect!
