Described by creator Pam as a denim blue holo with pink-to-gold color-shifting shimmers and aqua holographic glitters, this is an amazing polish. The base color is a deep, slightly murky (in a good way!) denim blue -- almost an indigo. Superabundant ultrafine color-shifting particulate shimmers create a glowing semi-transparent pink sheen that floats over the base, where minute aqua holographic glitters twinkle like tiny stars as light travels over them. Athletic and responsive holographic effects combine with the shimmers and glitters to generate a microcosm of color and visual texture on each nail, mini-mosaics of blues, greens and purples punctuated by bright prismatic sparks and washed by holographically-generated arcs of indigo, azure and spring green in the sun.
Application was great! The consistency of What Happens in Vegas Ends Up on Twitter is fluid and dense with a medium viscosity and an even, self-leveling glide over the nail. There's a little bit of tumbling on the part of the glitters but no stacking, stickups or protrusions over the free edge. Pigmentation is very good, delivering evenly opaque coverage in two coats. Cleanup is easy. What Happens in Vegas Ends Up on Twitter dries naturally in good time to a textured finish that is mostly smoothed with a layer of topcoat. I gave this manicure an extra glassy finish by adding a layer of gel-effect topcoat before finishing with Seche Vite.
Photos show two coats of What Happens in Vegas Ends Up on Twitter over treatment and basecoat with a layer of Pretty Serious Plump Up the Volume topcoat followed by a layer of Seche Vite.

Believe me when I tell you that photos don't do proper justice to this gorgeous creation. It is simply too lively and mercurial to be captured in a still image. The smoky, mysterious deep blue, the tiny twinkling glitters, the radiant pink sheen that shifts to gold at certain angles to the light and the shimmering prismatic hues generated by the holographic pigment all work together to produce a polish that is not only beautiful to the eye but exceptionally charismatic as well. Its creative, well-balanced composition, originality and cool indie flavor make it extraordinarily gratifying to wear.
Sadly, this latest addition to Pam's much-loved "What Happens in Vegas" series was a single-pour numbered batch that was only available for a short window of time. You never know, though -- a bottle could cross your path in a future destash or blog sale. If it does, don't think twice! Grab it!
xo,
Liz
Omg. Omg omg omg omg omg. I admit that I was prejudiced against this one because I didn't care for the name, but I was always drawn to it anyway, and now... on you, it looks like the moonlit reflection of an enchanted forest in a magical lake. What was I thinking?! Trick question: I wasn't thinking. It's breathtaking!
ReplyDelete*lol* Oh, the wiles of the polish-purchase screening process!
DeleteI really didn't know what to expect from this polish even though I'd read every review of it that I came across. Photos really only give a general impression when it comes to the dynamics of how a polish looks and feels. If I could choose one polish to persuade someone of what an indie polish has to offer, it would be this one. Unusual, crafted, evocative, artistic, surprising, unique, beautifully-formulated,fun!
I'll set my bottle aside for you, Marisa.
Hahah, as Marisa, so was I negatively affected by the name (for some reason, my face 'snerks' when I hear that tagline) and, while I did see some nice swatches, most I just went Meh on. Your powers of description (which I am very susceptible to!), though, have made me look again at it and your beautiful photos have swayed me. It's purdy!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the deal with the name, eh? I've always thought that the "What Happens in Vegas" names were kind of cute. In any case, I'm glad I could help you two overcome this strange bias. *lol* It really is a spectacular polish!
