Three For One

Here's a multi-mani post for you, selected from the ever growing collection of iPhoto nail polish pictures on my mac. All of these were swatched a few months ago in April. I used a base and topcat for all of them as one does, of course -- I believe I was using Essie First Base basecoat and either Poshe or Seche Vite topcoat.

First up is indie polish maker a england's Guinevere, a medium toned greyed lavender with a totally dreamy formula.

I have two polishes from this amazing brand, this one and a forest green scattered holo called St. George and the formulas of both are above any reproach. They are both amazingly well-pigmented and opaque in one coat with the kind of perfect smooth and even consistency that feels like it paints itself onto your nail. Dry time is quick and the finish smooth and silky. In my photos (taken on an overcast day) Guinevere's looks a bit "heavier" than it does in person. Feminine and understated, it makes an excellent neutral color that is not run-of-the-mill.

Next up is Orly's Sapphire Silk. Sapphire Silk is a gorgeous medium-dark creamy teal-leaning blue. This kind of blue, if I don't already own it or sometimes even when I do, pretty much makes me salivate with the desire to possess. All of them, I want them aaaaaaallllllll! *cackle*

Once again, the photos show the color a bit darker than it looks in person. The first pic, in direct sun, is what I see on my nails when I wear this polish.

Last up is a fan-freaking-tastic orange holographic polish from indie-polish maker Literary Lacquers called More Like Fire Than Light. Perfect name for a perfect polish. I mean, this woman can make really make a holo! It is almost unbearably painful to post about a Literary Lacquers holo right now as she has a new collection out based on the Anne of Green Gables book series with two uttterly GORGEOUS green holos in it (Green Gables, here and Lake of Shining Waters, here) and I'm on a no-buy right now. *sobs*

It's ok, I'll be all right in a second. *more sobbing*

*snifsnif snuffle*

Ahem, ok. More Like Fire Than Light is a stunning linear holo. The color is a brilliant true orange. I love and adore this polish.

Wow, looking at these pictures makes me so want to paint my nails with More Like Fire Than Light! You see what I mean, right?

So many polishes, so little time... let's not even talk about money, bah.

All this reminds me that I still haven't investigated the mini-remodel it's going to take for my new nail polish rack to fit in my closet. I will do that today. When I finally get it up I will be sure to take plenty of photos for you!

Til then...

love,
Aunt Liz
