The formula is liquid and dense with pigment and shimmer, making it a bit brushstrokey. Nemesis! A good topcoat helps smooth the brushstrokes but doesn't eliminate them entirely. As with most duochrome/multichrome polishes, every odd contour of the nail bed is made readily apparent, so be prepared to have a good look at my nail ridges!
I used two coats of For the Twill of It plus a topcoat of Seche Vite for the photos. Apologies for the flaky skin and acetone residue, it was a bad finger day.

I'm convinced that there's physics involved in why the brilliant teal green shift that is visible in person gets lost in photographic translation. Somehow the camera just fails to read it except for around the edges of the purple. That last photo was the best I could do and it's not even close to what I was seeing with my eyes. The purple, on the other hand, is very overt and chatty.
I've taken a couple of millimeters off my nail length, did you notice?
love,
Aunt Liz
This is incredible!! Look at all the pretty colors. You did a great job capturing the colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Thithi! I assure you, it's much better in person. Especially the teal green shift. I took a bunch of pictures of what to my eye was a brilliant teal green only to have it show up as steel grey in the photos. The teal you see above is kind of murky compared to what this polish can do in person.
