KBShimmer Every Nook & Cranberry

Every Nook & Cranberry is the last of the three polishes from the fall collection by KBShimmer that I permitted myself to purchase. There are seven polishes altogether in that collection, all gorgeous, so you see my self-restraint here. Well, maybe not. But I felt rather self-congratulatory about it at the time!

Every Nook & Cranberry has a nicely-saturated medium-dark cranberry base filled with large flaky shimmers in pink/violet and gold, and dries naturally to a satiny matte finish. The pigmentation of this polish really is wonderful -- I reckon someone with a more even hand than I could make a one-coater out of it. Technically, it's a dark pink polish, but the color becomes richer with each coat you apply. At it's deepest, it is a rich glowing cranberry, shimmering with the sparkly pink and gold shardy flakes that seem to hover just below the surface. It's a lovely alternative to the warmer reds that are typically favored during the fall, especially for those with cooler-toned complexions.

It applies beautifully. Even when I swiped my cuticles, clean up was easy and left no staining behind. I am once again more than impressed with Christy's formulary skills. Her shimmer polishes are richly pigmented yet do not stain and remove as easily as they apply.

Every Nook & Cranberry's natural matte finish has a velvety look and displays the shimmer quite well, but I chose to apply glossy topcoat to my manicure as I love the shimmer under glass look it gives. Photos show two coats of Every Nook & Cranberry over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

So pretty! This is a lively feminine polish with a festive air to it. On the nail, it is jewel-like. It just glows with color, even in the dimmest of light. It reminds me of those ribbon candies you see around Christmastime. Even Fuzzy, whose credo includes a "no pink" clause, conceded that Every Nook & Cranberry was "sweet." A ringing endorsement from the pink-averse, what other beating hearts out there lay waiting to be captivated by this beauty? I submit it is a very large number.
