Picture Polish O'hara

It's been too long since I've done a Picture Polish post! In May I showed you Picture Polish Cosmos, and in June you got an awesome three for one Picture Polish post with Dorothy, Orbit and Tease. So now it's August, almost September, and today I'm going to show you Picture Polish O'hara.

O'hara is a bee-yooo-tee-full medium-dark saturated bright crimson polish with hot pink undertones, loaded with holographic shimmery microshards. It is incredibly well-pigmented and offers complete opacity in one coat, although the color becomes richer and more brilliant with two or more. Beautifully formulated, as are all Picture Polish offerings, it glides smoothly onto the nail with a dense buttery texture.

Picture Polish's brushes are well-formed and flexible for maximum fannage (yes I just made that up) over the nail bed. I'd forgotten just how effective they are and promptly spread a liberal dose of O'hara over my nail surrounds. In a shock and awe moment, I then proceeded to do exactly the same thing for the next three fingers. Sometimes things just take a bit to sink in when you haven't mainlined your morning caffeine. I'm happy to say that I did finally regain my composure, primed with a humongous mug of hot tea, and the second coat went on like a dream. O'hara dries naturally and very quickly to a silky smooth shiny finish.

Photos show two coats of this incredibly gorgeous polish over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite for added gloss and sparkle maximization. Please excuse the random blue glitters lodged here and there in my cuticles. My removal of Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream could have been better but man oh man those abundant glitters made it a hellish task. *looking pointedly in direction of Mermaid's Dream bottle* Foil method for you next time, missy!

This polish is panache in a bottle! It's a jubilant joyful red, a creme/jelly hybrid with just the right amount of translucence to give it a luscious juicy glow. In sunlight the shardy holo shimmers pop with sparks of light and in dim light the intense color deepens and takes on a resplendent luxurious creaminess. It has such a positive happy energy on the nail, it makes you just want to go out and share it with people. If this polish were a person it would climb into a tree, shake the branches and shout its credo to the world! Beauty! Truth! Joy! Love! *tip of the hat to Room With A View*

Eleanor, I know you don't normally go for reds but this one has the sort of energy and lightness of spirit that would fit you, and it's just so delicious and easy to wear. I suspect it might not be dark enough for your mom, but maybe I could coax you into trying it. Maybe?

Think about it.

love,
Aunt Liz

  1. It is such a lovely color! It does suck how glitter polishes are super hard to remove, though :\

    1. It is wonderful! And actually has NO glitter in it. The holographic sparkles you see are not traditional chunky hard-to-remove glitter, they are tiny shard-like holographic platelets and no more difficult to remove than any shimmer polish. You would enjoy wearing this fabulous bright color, it is easy to remove.
