WingDust Collections Plum Outta Ideas

©2009-2013 Drummerboy08

Today I have a beautiful purple polish to show you from Canadian indie polish maker WingDust Collections of Toronto, Ontario. It's called Plum Outta Ideas and it reminds me of the visions of sugar plums from A Visit From St. Nicholas.

Plum Outta Ideas is described by Stephanie, the creative force behind WingDust, as "a deep purple with gold shimmer, holo gold and purple and fuchsia glitters." It's a dark plummy purple jelly polish with luminescent shimmer, tiny purple and fuchsia hex glitters for additional texture and dimension, and holographic gold glitters in two sizes. This is a subtle sparkler with rich color that is perfect for this time of year.

The formula for Plum Outta Ideas is fluid and dense with a slightly sticky gel-like texture common to jelly polishes. I used two thick coats over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite for the photos below.

Isn't that pretty? I love the way the holo glitters dust the color with twinkling speckles of light. Plum Outta Ideas has a slightly reserved, modest aspect to it's beauty that is particularly appealing amidst the wound-up consumerism and overdo of the holidays. It brings to mind the more traditional and fundamental aspects of the season's festivities... the holiness and sublimity, the joy of homecomings and reunions, the soul-warming familiarity of family rituals, the tributes to gathering in love and thanks for blessings shared.

Eleanor, I hope that your sugar plum visions tonight are imbued with the best kind of celebratory nuances, the ones that matter to you most.

love,
Aunt Liz
