Darling Diva BEWBS!!
Bewbs was released by Minnesota-based indie polish maker Darling Diva Polish as part of the Salem collection almost exactly one year ago, in October 2014. The Salem collection, inspired by the American supernatural fiction drama television series, was full of magnificent linear holographic polishes in deep fall colors, including Dark Ritual, which you saw featured here last November.
By many accounts, Bewbs was the "must have" favorite of the bunch. It's a linear holo in a deep saturated purple shade along the lines of palatinate with hints of berry, plum and wine. Despite the depth of tone, this is not a blackened shade and always reads as purple, even in very dim light. It is not so saturated that it swallows the holo effects, either. Direct sun generates an intense sparkling linear prismatic flare with the violet/indigo/blue spectrum and red predominating over a central gleaming flash of semi-metallic red-violet. In indirect and dim light, there's a red flash at the point of reflection that imparts a touch of gothic drama to the polish's vampy, arcane vibe.
Application was wonderful. The consistency of Bewbs is fluid, creamy and dense with a plush velvety glide over the nail and very good self-leveling properties. Pigmentation is outstanding. Bewbs is easily a one-coater, but I added a second, as I usually do, to finesse some lines left wanting by the first and to completely camouflage my nail ridges. Cleanup is something you'll want to do as little of as possible due to the highly pigmented formula. I strongly suggest waiting for the polish to set up beforehand, as the contact of acetone with wet polish will trigger substantial pigment travel with noticeable residual staining in the cuticle area especially (oh yes I did!). Fortunately, Bewbs dries naturally in very good time. The finish is smooth but slightly flat, and wants a glossy topcoat to look its best. Topcoat does not diminish the holographic properties of this polish in any way.

Such a rich, lush, sumptuous color, this stuff doesn't fool around! The subtle holographic nuances to this polish in indirect light seem to come from deep within, creating a dreamy dimensionality that makes you want to roll around in it. As dazzling as the prismatic display in direct sun is, the look in indirect light is just bewitching! Vampiness at its most sophisticated and glamorous. I have to agree, if you love deep red-violet wine-colored polishes, you really do need this.
The good news is that it is still available from creator Carrie's big cartel shop! Others from this collection are on last call status, so don't wait too long to grab this beauty for yourself.
I've never seen even one episode of Salem. If there's a specific reference from the show (beyond the obvious) for the incongruously hilarious name of this polish, I welcome all forms of enlightenment. It reminds me of South Park and Beavis and Butthead. Bewbs... uhhh heh heh heh heh heh.

This is an exceptionally beautiful polish. Red-violet is so classy looking. However, the name of this polish is so far from classy it's not even funny.
