Glam Polish Enchanted Forest

Like Far Far Away, Enchanted Forest was released at the beginning of this month by Australian indie polish maker Glam Polish as part of the Forever After collection. It is described as a bright jade scattered holo with ultra holographic glitter, and I agree. The color is a medium cool-toned jade green with a certain minty aspect, densely speckled with tiny holographic hex glitters. It's bright and tender and very fresh. As with gemstone jade, a delicate milky quality adds an appealing luminosity and softness to the color. In ambient light, there's a gentle flush of misty sky blue, spangled by scattered green sparks from the infinitesimal glitters. These glitters blanket the polish with random prismatic sparkles in the sun, which also generates a delicate, slightly dispersed azure blue flare.

Application was wonderful. The formula is quite similar to that of Far Far Away, with a fluid, slightly fluffy and dense consistency and a medium-to-thicker viscosity that I've seen described as "thick in a good way." I added a bit of polish thinner to my bottle for a slightly more moderate viscosity that better suits my painting skills. Thinned, it has a lush, even glide over the nail and likes to go on in medium coats. Pigmentation is very good, delivering opaque coverage and full bottle color in two coats. Cleanup is fairly straightforward. I didn't notice much pigment travel but there was a bit of residual staining, and the microglitters like to stick. Enchanted Forest dries naturally in very good time to a gentle sandy finish that is mostly smoothed by a single layer of topcoat.

Photos show two coats of Enchanted Forest over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I am happily astonished by how much I've enjoyed the two polishes from the Forever After collection that I've tried so far. On the nail, the colors have felt remarkably fresh and new. It's not a quality that you can see in a photo, and goes to show you that with artisan-crafted, handmixed polishes you really do get something unique each time you try one.

  1. Your swatches are so pretty, as is the polish, all minty sparkleness.
I wonder which ingredient(s) that go into polish give it that glide-on quality that makes it seem like the polish could paint itself? Too bad it can't be included in every polish!

    1. Thanks, m'dear!

I call it the mag-lev effect, when a polish glides on like that. I used to fear I would get spoiled by such effortlessly-applying polishes, but the incredible gratitude I feel every time I work with one of them makes me think I've precluded that. Ha!
