Glam Polish Far Far Away
Far Far Away was just released at the beginning of this month by Australian indie polish maker Glam Polish as part of the Forever After collection, a series of twelve polishes inspired by the magic of fairytales. This is an eminently-wearable summery orange scattered holographic polish bearing superabundant tiny ultra holographic hex glitters. The color is a creamy medium-toned melony sort of orange with a kiss of pink to it, enough to give the color aspirations to coral in the sun. In ambient light it reminds me of sherbet, with a slightly sun-bleached aspect that gentles and softens the orange. Finely-milled holographic pigment generates a bloom of pale misty pink within the polish, spangled with sparks of orange from the teeming glitters. The color brightens in direct sun to a radiant corally tangerine shade, blanketed by a scattered display of bright rainbow-colored sparks.
Application was great! The consistency of Far Far Away is fluid and dense with a medium-to-thicker viscosity that I added a few drops of polish thinner to before painting. Thinned, it has a lush, loamy glide over the nail with outstanding self-leveling properties. The glitters are extremely well-behaved, going on without stacking or stickups and laying totally flat to the nail. Pigmentation is excellent, delivering wearably opaque coverage in one medium coat, although you'll certainly want to add a second to maximize the holographic effects. Cleanup is fairly easy -- hardly any pigment travel or trace staining but those microglitters are sticky! Far Far Away dries naturally in good time to a slightly sandy-textured finish from the glitters, mostly smoothed by a single layer of topcoat. Topcoat does not appear to affect the holographic properties of the polish in any way.

I love this sparkly delicate orange with its breath of pink and its beautiful floral tone! It's bright without being loud or harsh, and so very happy and uplifting! Just a perfect orange for summer!

ReplyDeleteThis one is a little jewel of an orange, bright and flattering and such a personable, happy color! I don't often feel this way about an orange, but this one is special. Wearing this is like hanging out with your favorite cousin -- you don't have to do anything special to have a wonderful time!
