Hare Polish Love You to Pieces

Love You to Pieces was released by indie polish maker Hare Polish for Valentine's Day 2014. It's a beautiful deep plum jelly carrying superabundant flakies in silver, gold, red and lavender. In appearance it is classic Hare, a luscious kaleidoscope of colors shimmering through a translucent jelly base.

Application was a snap! The consistency is fluid and gel-like with a bit of stickiness. The first coat is a bit streaky but coverage and color build really well with this polish. I only need two medium coats for an opacity I was happy with. Each brushful carries a complete range of components that disperse easily and randomly across the nail. Cleanup is straightforward and although the flakies do like to cling to the skin they are easily removed with a bit of extra sweeping. Love You to Pieces dries naturally in very good time to a slightly textured shiny finish. I added a coat of Gelous before my topcoat to smooth out the texture.

Photos show two coats of Love You to Pieces over Seche Rebuild treatment and Butter London Nail Foundation basecoat with a coat of Gelous followed by a topcoat of HK Girl.

The flakie mix in this polish is just gorgeous and the individual flakes take on new color from the translucent plum jelly base as they shine from within the layers, making a beautiful analogous color palette. I just adore polishes like this, everything works together so well and the result is smooth, rich and dimensional. Although the base color is very deep, it's translucence allows plenty of light to penetrate and light it up. In direct sunlight, the flakies sparkle like crazy. Magnifique!

This is the only polish I purchased from Nikole's last restock of the Hare etsy shop and it took some willpower to only buy one. I don't have the budget right now to get as many of Hare's offerings as I would like to, but there are a few from the Twin Peaks collection that definitely call my name -- just not as loudly as Love You to Pieces did! I appreciate the measured pace with which Nikole releases her new collections, it keeps me from being driven into a frenzied fit of wanting ALL THE POLISHES right now this minute!

love,
Liz

OMG, Thithi have you seen the Hare that'll be coming out in May's A Box Indied -- called The Blooming Desert -- Valesha has it swatched on Peachy Polish, a pink glitter crelly TO DIE FOR. Even you, professed pink-meh person, must say it is beautiful and it makes me want to subscribe to that friggen $50 box for the Hares that won't be released anywhere else. Kill me now!

    1. Hi Melissa! One of the really nice things about how Nikole runs Hare is that she does restock her older collections, so they never become truly HTF or unattainable. It's just a matter of patience!

Of course, A Box Indied Hare is another matter. I gasped out loud when I saw that swatch of Blooming Desert! I can't stand that it'll only be available with the Box! Curses!
