Chirality Katydid

The other day I showed you Apollonia and I have another luscious Chirality scattered holo for you today, Eleanor. A GREEN one! It's called Katydid and it's a light vivid well-saturated yellow-green. Tasty!

Like Amanda's other scattered holographic polishes, Katydid is superbly formulated. She has her ratio of holo to colored pigments down to the ground! Her mixture provides for vivid lush color that is intensely dimensional in any light, and produces a lovely loose linear flair in direct light.

On the nail, Katydid's finish has the appearance of a MULTI-green polish, with all kinds of other natural colors visible in it. The holo effect renders in colors that correlate to the prismatic spectrum in an unusual way due to the exceptionally strong yellow-green pigmentation. When overlapped by the holographic outspread, this  produces golds, browns and greens in addition to the typical prismatic colors of red-orange-yellow-green-blue-indigo-violet.

What I love most about Chirality's green holos like Katydid is the way the colored pigments interact with the holographic ones to produce an incredibly dimensional look in even the dimmest of light. One finger nail is like a miniature field of high grasses bending this way and that on a gusty day, or a carpet of the lushest silk velvet being unfurled in the sun. It's truly awesome.

Application of Katydid was a delight. The consistency was liquid, dense, smooth and self-leveling. Had it been darker in color I have no doubt that, like Apollonia, it would have been a one-coater. Photos show two coats of this polish over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite. Unfortunately we are having lots of clouds today, but I caught a few in the sun that will give you an idea of the holographic nature of Katydid.

Pretty darn wonderful! Gosh, how I love this polish. My photos don't do proper justice. It's much better in person.

The name Katydid reminds me of a song that we used to sing to your mom when she and I were little. It goes...

K-k-k-katie
Beautiful Katie
You're the only g-g-g-girl that I adore!
When the m-moon shines
Over the cowshed
I'll be waiting by the k-k-k-kitchen door!

Ask her to sing it for you!

love,
Aunt Liz
