There's a soft elegant formality to this color that reminds me simultaneously of Chanel and Revlon. *lol* Do you think I've been looking at photos of dark blue polish for too long?
Application was pretty good, the consistency is liquid and smooth and dense. Big Smoke goes on evenly and self-levels beautifully, reaching opacity and bottle color in two coats. The second coat wanted to pull some patches on me, the way shimmer polishes sometimes do. But the formula here is forgiving enough to let you go back and tend to patches without leaving evidence that you've done so. No cuticle staining, no bubbling.
I finished my manicure with a topcoat of Seche Vite, which did leave three bubbles on my right middle finger nail, one of them big enough to look like I embedded a crystal ball in there. Hmm. Time to take some thinner to my Seche Vite bottle.

I rather love this graceful subdued blue. Even though it's a very dark color, it doesn't feel like one and it never looks black, even in the lowest of light you still can tell that it's blue. It's easy to wear in the same way that well-made expensive clothing is easy to wear, and exudes the same sort of chic self-confidence.
A keeper, for sure!
love,
Aunt Liz
