The clear base is quite liquid for a suspension formula and gives you plenty of time to spread the glitters evenly across the nail before it starts to dry. One coat is sparse enough to make Glitter Goblin an effective sparkly topper over another polish. After two, opacity begins to develop with complete opacity reached in three coats, which is how I chose to wear it.
Glitter Goblin was actually among the very first China Glaze polishes I purchased for myself off of ebay and I've worn it as an accent nail several times. This is my first full manicure with this polish and I think it is SPECTACULAR!
This polish dries quickly to a textured satiny finish and loves a thick topcoat to smooth the glitters, brighten the colors and provide for maximum sparkle. I layered a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food sandwiched between two coats of Seche Vite for a glossy surface that was still slightly textured after it dried down completely.
One thing I realized when applying Glitter Goblin is that clean up with this kind of polish is easiest and most effective when I did it as I went along, while the polish is still wet. Once it dries, it gets much more difficult to remove any swipage. As it is, I still had loose glitters around my nails when I was done but the resplendence on the nail makes it easier to overlook the ragtags.
Photos show three coats of Glitter Goblin over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite followed by a coat of Different Dimension Glitter Food followed by a final coat of Seche Vite. The sparkle is way more pronounced in person that any photo could ever show but I hope these give you some idea of what Glitter Goblin is like.

I think this may be back up worthy, it's too fabulous not to wear as often as you want to and I can see myself wearing it a lot. It reduced Fuzzy to monosyllables. John's response: Good god woman! Hee hee. I've got your shock and awe right here, Sgt. Fortys. Touché (FRENCH!), vive le microglitter!
Yep. Bee's knees.
xoxo,
Aunt Liz
