Glam Polish OH

OH was released by Australian indie polish maker Glam Polish as part of the special limited edition OH.EM.GEE! Trio in April this year. I've been drooling over Glam Polish's offerings for what seems like forever and finally got up the gumption to make a purchase when I saw this trio of sparkling holographic shades, which feature mixes of holo microglitters and multichromatic and sterling silver flakies. I love sterling silver flakies, especially in combination with other components!

OH is a lively melange of those sweet sterling silver flakies with magenta/blue/purple multichromatic flakies, lavender holographic microglitters and silver ultra holographic microglitters in a silver holo base. It has a mind-blowing amount of visual texture, with gleaming flakes and sparks in a rainbow of colors lighting up all over the nail. The holo pigment shades the silver with a wash of pinkish purple and provides a dimensional substrata for the more reflective bits. Holy sparklefest, Batman!

Application was great! The consistency, though dense with components, is fluid and light with a smooth flow over the nail and excellent self-leveling properties. Coverage is largely provided by the components and every brushful yields a profusion, which disperse easily without stacking, stickups or protrusions over the free edge. Two coats provides mostly opaque coverage -- mine was a little lean on a the tips of a few nails so three would probably be best. Cleanup was trouble-free. OH dries naturally in good time to a slightly textured finish.

Photos show two coats of OH over treatment and basecoat with a smoothing layer of Gelous followed by a topcoat of Seche Vite.

I expect that this polish would deliver a full prismatic display in direct sun, but unfortunately we're in short supply of that today, which is overcast and rife with humidity. With all of its gleaming, sparkly, glowy parts OH reminds me of something Glinda the witch of the south would wear.

While I like this, I'm not as taken with it as I've been with other holographic compositions that include various flakies. That might change when I see it in the sun. I loved Rachel's photos of it in her review of the trio on Royal Milk Tea. Look for EM and GEE to feature here in the near future!

love,
Liz
