Grasshopper (for short!) is a medium-light bright mantis green linear holographic polish bearing an abundance of gleaming glass fleck shimmers in blue and pink. The glass flecks show as aqua and apricot, respectively, within the base, the aqua especially supplementing the lively freshness of the green. In indirect light the holographic effects nuance the base with hues of fern, forest and golden green. In direct sun there is a beautiful linear flair with a central blaze of bright green that has aspects of aqua and mint to it, with a subtle subterranean contrasting gleam of golden apricot. This a beautifully constructed polish with all components working harmoniously to produce a zesty, vibrant, dimensional holographic shade.
Application was lovely. The consistency of Grasshopper is fluid, light and smooth despite the copious flecky shimmers, with a fluent, self-leveling glide over the nail. The formula has certain creme/jelly hybrid qualities including a degree of translucence so coverage is buildable but very even with no streakiness. Two coats will net wearable coverage with a hint of visible nail line that seems to suit the character of the polish, and were I not photographing it I would happily wear it as such but for the purposes of this post I used three coats. Cleanup is easy with a little stickiness on the part of the flakes. Grasshopper dries naturally in good time to a smooth shiny finish. Topcoat seems to enhance the visibility of the glass flecks and does not diminish the holographic effects in any way.

This is such a pretty color and sits so lightly on the nail! We had gorgeous weather here today, warm and sunny with bright clear skies, low humidity and a gusty breeze tossing the still freshly fledged leaves around, and with this twinkly green holo on my nails I felt quite at one with the day. Awesome!
