Girly Bits Hoop There It Is

Hoop There It Is was released by Canadian indie polish maker Girly Bits as the namesake polish of the Hoop There It Is collection in April this year. Pam describes this one as a neon coral/pink. Although I see a lot of pink in the bottle, it has a strong orange lean with my medium cool skin tone. Definitely more of an orange-red than You're My Hooper Hero's electric watermelon but with the same juicy tropical brilliance, it's sort of like a very candy fluorescent bittersweet, much more floral and fruity than a regular orange. It's another exotic hot house flower of a polish and man, is it bright!

Application was fantastic. The formulas in this collection are simply the most luscious, creamy concoctions I've ever come across in a nail polish. They are superb! Fluid, creamy, and ultra smooth, they float effortlessly over the nail and self-level like a dream. Hoop There It Is has a bit of translucence to it like a creme/jelly hybrid, the better to let the light in and fire up the amazing color. I used three coats for completely even opaque coverage on my nails and they needed all three. Cleanup is easy and straightforward with a little bit of pigment travel and trace lingering of the color on skin. Hoop There It Is dries naturally in very good time to a satiny semi-matte finish. A glossy topcoat unequivocally makes the most of the blazing fluorescence with a plump, juicy look. Yummy!

Photos show three coats of Hoop There It Is over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite. Apologies for the overly dry, scruffy fingers.

For all of its retina-searing powers, there's a boatload of the traditional coral joie de vivre in Hoop There It Is. When I catch it out of the corner of my eye or see it reflected in a mirror, it's so intensely feminine and zesty and just downright gorgeous that I immediately wonder, wait -- are those MY fingers? I love it when a polish plays that trick on me.

It's like a big ole dose of gussy up!

love,
Liz
