Polish My Life Pink Sandals

Pink Sandals was released by Brooklyn, NY-based indie polish maker Polish My Life as part of the A Time to Chill collection in May 2014. This is a pastel bleached or baby pink creme with a cool lean and a creamy, luminous presence on the nail. Think ballet tights, strawberry ice cream, fondant, conch shells, salt water taffy, baby showers. It reminds me of the Bahamas, the soft pinkish sands, the pastel-painted houses, the soft salty breeze off of the ocean and bright hot sun on the top of my head.

Application was great! The consistency of Pink Sandals is fluid, dense and very creamy with a satiny flow over the nail and very good self-leveling properties, especially for a whitened shade. Pigmentation is also very good. It was somewhat streaky on the first coat, but what pastel isn't? Those with mad skills may be able to achieve an opacity that they're happy with in two coats. For the rest of us it'll take three to even everything out. Cleanup is easy and straightforward with just a little pigment travel. Pink Sandals dries naturally in good time to a slick glossy finish. Nice!
