Kryptonite by Australian indie polish maker Picture Polish is one of their collaboration lacquers. It was designed by Cathy of the excellent Aussie polish blog More Nail Polish and composed by Picture Polish according to her vision.
Kryptonite is a gorgeous well-saturated deep foresty bottle green jelly with a large particle scattered holo effect. The holographic material used is in the form of flat thin particles, not glitter, so it is completely incorporated into the formula and does not protrude the way glitter does.
The consistency of this jelly is liquid but dense and creamy and applies beautifully. I love the short-stemmed slightly flattened brushes that come with Picture Polish lacquers. The brush is wider than average but not as wide as OPI's pro-wide brush. The bristles are soft and flexible and perfect for gently sweeping the polish over the nail. Kryptonite applies evenly and does not run or pool but it will pull patches if overworked or if applied too soon over wet polish so a few minutes between coats is a good idea. I caught a couple of patches on my left thumb in the pictures. My bad! Clean up is fairly easy and the little bit of faint staining left on my skin removed itself easily after a light application of jojoba oil.
Coverage is excellent for a jelly. Bottle color is reached in two coats, with enough translucence still to allow the holo particles to glow from within the layers. Kryptonite dries naturally in good time to a glossy finish.
Photos show two easy coats of Kryptonite over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite to protect against smudging and ward off the dent gremlins.

This is such a beautiful rich color. The holo particles are suspended in the jelly base, glowing with rainbow colors in direct light and add tremendous depth and visual interest overall. Usually I am more attracted to yellow greens but this deep bottle green has stolen my heart.
Kryptonite has a certain easy glamour on the nail but still feels light in spite of being such a dark color. Bonus: it removes easily without staining.
This one's a winner, don't you think?
love,
Aunt Liz
