Cirque High Roller
Like Electric Daisy and Sin City, High Roller was released towards the end of June this year by NYC-based indie polish maker Cirque Colors as part of the Vice 2016 collection. Officially described as a neon mint creme, the color belongs to the aqua/cyan-turquoise-tiffany blue clan. It's kind of like if you took cyan and infused it with a drop of spring green, or maybe a particularly intense variation of tiffany blue. Also a happy member of the pool blue club, as a neon it is rather more sun-bleached than truly fluorescent but does have a bit of that glow-in-the-dark freshness in low light and shade.
Application was great! The consistency of High Roller is fluid and very creamy with a medium viscosity and a velvety, self-leveling glide over the nail that has a tiny bit of pull to it, altogether a very sweet formula for a white-based polish. Pigmentation is very good. With an even hand, uniformly opaque coverage can be had in two coats. I do not have a particularly even hand, so I chose to add a third thin coat for the photos. Cleanup is easy and straightforward. High Roller dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, shiny finish.
Photos show two coats of High Roller over treatment and basecoat with a topcoat of Seche Vite. Please excuse any lingering glitters, remnants of the removal of yesterday's manicure.

In person High Roller is perhaps a hair greener than it appears in my photos. Such a fresh, Floridian shade -- it reminds me of the Bahamas! And also very much of New Orleans, where colors like this are popular choices for house paint. I like it!

I'm so happy you reviewed this! It's been on my summer wish list and of course now that you've reviewed it with your beautiful words and beautiful photos it is positively irresistible ;) I picked up Darling Diva "Hop Scotch" and I absolutely love it, but my thirst for neon cyan is far from sated and I think "High Roller" turns up the glow just a beautiful little bit. Good enough for me! :D
ReplyDeleteI loved that Sidewalk Chalk collection from Darling Diva! The name and concept, the colors! My favorite was that amazing orchid purple, Flower Garden. I should have gotten that polish. I think you're right, Marisa. Hop Scotch has more of a crelly formula, slightly translucent, while the Vice 2016 neons are very creamy and white-based so they present a bit brighter. You're going to love High Roller!
