Application, as with every Il Était Un Vernis polish that I have experienced, was extremely gratifying. The consistency of Captain Blue Sky is fluid, light and creamy with a thin-to-medium viscosity and a buttery-smooth, self-leveling glide over the nail. It likes to go on in thin coats but will accommodate thicker ones as well, and is a joy to finesse with Il Était Un Vernis' sleekly compact flattened-style brush. Pigmentation is excellent and will render wearably opaque coverage in a single coat, although you'll want two for fullest color. Cleanup is surprisingly easy for a darker blue, with only a little bit of pigment travel and light residual staining to particularly dry areas. Captain Blue Sky dries naturally in very good time to a smooth, almost glossy finish. Nice!

So pretty! And the superb formula that goes on so beautifully somehow makes it feel even prettier. Each new polish from this brand has me marveling over how consistently excellent the formulas are. If you haven't tried Il Était Un Vernis yet, I highly recommend treating yourself to some of their fabulous colors.
