As often as chocolate is used to described brown polish, it's actually a rarity for me to come across a lacquer that immediately makes me think, "ooh, chocolate!" This is one of those lacquers, and it is eminently worthy of its name. The color here is a rich, deep melding of dark brown with a kiss of burnt umber for the perfect chocolate shade, with exactly the right sort of smooth, creamy quality and and tonal depth to make you long for the taste and feel of ganache on your tongue. As a holographic polish, this is a particularly dense color. Artful use of holo pigment adds a graceful touch of dimensionality in ambient light and allows a semi-metallic golden brown underlay to peek through occasionally, while in the sun there's a modest, slightly dispersed prismatic display that's just enough rainbow sparkle to remind you that you've actually got a holo on your nails.
Application was accompanied by salivation, I kid you not. The consistency of Oh My Ganache is fluid, full-bodied and deliciously creamy with a medium viscosity and a plush, velvety, self-leveling glide over the nail -- a superb formula that is a joy to work with. Pigmentation is excellent. It's almost a one-coater but you'll want two for fullest, richest color. Cleanup is easy, another of Christy's formulaic feats consistent to all three linear holos from this collection that is much appreciated, by me anyway! Oh My Ganache dries naturally in very good time to an unusually glossy finish for a holo that only deepens the chocolate association. Topcoat does not affect the holographic properties at all.

If you're a fan of brown polish, which I think possesses an exceptional chic-ness any time of the year but especially in the colder months, this is a great one! When you consider that brown is a neutral, it goes with everything and its richness and depth will give you a particularly resonant counterpoint to any jewel tones or smoky heathers or metallic colors in your wardrobe. How awesome would this be with a leather jacket, eh?

DeleteI've tried a couple of so-called chocolate polishes before and was disappointed in them. This one, though, looks to fit the bill! Wow, another stunner.
